17/10/2009 · Hi I have just bought a new Acer Aspire One netbook, its operating system is Linpus Linux Lite v1.0.9.E. It comes with a recovery disc but as it has no CD drive I was wondering if it could be downloaded from somewhere and saved on an external hard drive or SD card.
11/03/2021 · So Linpus Lite is a commercial Linux OS that Acer licensed for those models and others. Most of the AOD255E models shipped with Windows 7 but a few shipped with Linpus. The issue is that those models are now 10 years old and so it's unlikely Acer still has recovery discs to get them back to stock, and Linpus doesn't have downloadable images for non-customers.

I'm coming up mostly blank, they released 2.1 in 2014 and are at 2.2 now, but that model dates back to at least 2009 so I would expect it shipped with '9.4' (the next upgrade I find is '1.6' in 2011) which was first released in 2007.
